My Passion...

A good friend (in above picture) came in from Nigeria and stayed over at my place for a few days. One morning she sat down to apply her make up and as usual there were too many obvious mistakes that to be honest annoyed me. The uneven eye-liner and wrong choice of foundation she was using (Bobbi Brown) etc. No offence, I think Bobbi Brown are great. I just think my friend bought the wrong type of foundation. Being the typical me, I picked up the brush and started applying colours to her eyes, correcting her mistakes and before you know it I've given her a full makeover. It's funny moments before she had sent me on errand, I got so irritated and annoyed I refused and told her 'mi casa es su casa'. As I was rounding up she said 'Make up is definitely your calling and passion for real, I asked you to prepare breakfast and you refused insisting you were in a rush. Now, here you are painting my face with sheer diligence and commitment. Keep it up there's no limit to what you can achieve'. It's been while since we last spoke but for what it's worth thank you.

Sister's recommendation...

I thought my sister was joking when she suggested I do her friend's makeup and  as per usual I did not take her too seriously. At the time I had other pressing matters I was dealing with. She informed me three months prior but the information went in one ear and straight out the other. Just weeks before the wedding I was asked to do a trial of which went really well. From that moment on I was well on my way to being hired for her friend's special day. Thinking back I must admit was a very tedious day. I was put under a lot of pressure (eight women's makeup in the space of two hours). I guess the pictures speak louder than words. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Happy Married Life.

Achor Baby Movie Premier

Myself and Dupe posing for the camera.

Myself with the one and only DJ Abass who did a fantastic job that day. Special thanks for your love support and encouragement. You are awesome.

Myself on the red carpet, doing what I love best.
The lovely Mona Lisa was fashionably late. Absolutely love her grown and necklace.

Ayo Shonaiya, Wale Gates along with Lonzo the director Dj Abass, Olu Gbedu and guest.

Nothing but love Mona Lisa and DJ Abass.

It's been a while since I last attended a Nigerian movie premier but when a good friend of mine insisted I could not refuse. Certainly a good night too. Nollywood is well on it's way to getting global recognition we truly deserve. The London Premiere of ANCHOR BABY was held on the 30th August 2011 at the Odeon, Greenwich, London. Check out the official website www.anchorbabymovie.com.

First Makeup Trial

All smiles. If client is happy I'm happy.

I threw in the extra Head Tie all part of the service.

I was a bit nervous as I wasn't sure whether or not extending her high brows would look good on her as it usually does for me but it turned out fab in the end. A little experimentation and risk goes a long way.

Here goes..... I hope she likes it.

This is the first couple of pictures prior to trial. Lets go...

Makeup Trial. First Client at the start of 2012. There is plenty more to come too, I 'm so excited. I must admit, my job is so much easier when dealing with women like you who are very patient and supportive. A very big thank you Rukki for choosing  me to be part of your wedding. I truly look forward to it, in the mean time best wishes with all the preparation.

British Female Inventors & Innovators Network

I was not only delighted but elated when Grace Facequizite called me and asked if I would like to work alongside her and  Adebayo Jones who had organised the event. Held at the Royal Overseas League for the British Female Inventors & Innovators Network(BFINN) Symposium in collaboration with British Innovation Show(BIS) ...which was by the way a big SUCCESS.
It was very last minute and our schedule was extremely tight. Fortunately for us the models were not only beautiful but calm, polite and collected. It's a shame I was unable to stay to the very end and watch the fashion show; but at least I managed to take a picture. Above is a picture of myself (on the right) and Grace Facequizite Makeup Artist team.

Wise words...

Sometimes I want to talk but there's water in my mouth. What advice can I give to someone whose mother was killed and eaten by lion? No one can drink water more than he who drowns and dies at sea. Everybody in life is fighting a war.Whoever said he has never lied before is definitely lying again. The problem of the eyes is not what it has never seen before, but what it has seen and may never see again. Experience determines action. Never laugh at a man who is fighting an ordinary fly with gun. Real sleep is from the heart, not from closing eyes. Hatred is a diseases, it becomes incurable when it affects the heart. A polluted heart contaminates the soul. The sight of the heart travels faster than the sight of the eyes. When the heart is desperate for something the eyes and brain become powerless. To see life in a better way to close your eyes. Whoever beat his drums in public might end up dancing alone. Its not a secret anymore if you tell anyone. Never regret over anything that once made you happy in life. Don't write your success story if your still suffering. Any story you start with a lie will always end up in shame. There's no sympathy for a person who is fighting a war against himself. Never break a promise you make to yourself. What you say in my presence is not as important as what you say when am not around.....Akin Al Ameen (my mother's beloved  son).
